By three methods we may learn wisdom:
First, by reflection, which is noblest;
Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and
third by experience, which is the bitterest.

Lavender, that's real words of wisdom! However, do you know its original sentence in Chinese? Here's what I've got:

子曰:
生而知之者,上也;
學而知之者,次也;
困而學之,又其次也;
困而不學,民斯為下矣!

The first three clauses are related to the above English version.

English Version:

Confucius

Chinese Version:

子曰:

困而學之,又其次也;
困而不學,民斯為下矣!

Thanks glotynn,
By reading just the chinese version, i really dont understand what the real meaning is, but with the
English Version, I did catch some of the meaning,
and the last sentence

困而不學,民斯為下矣!

seems like the English Version has no Translation on that..

did it mean : with experience but not learn, is the worst??

Lavender,

The sentence "困而不學,民斯為下矣!" is not the fourth method of learning wisdom, but the additional comments Confucius told a king of the country he visited.

It can be translated as:
If a ruler learnt nothing even from experiences, his people would always stay low leveled.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
