Do personality tests work?
There’s a wide range of tests, of varying reliability. The most recent fad is aimed at finding “matrix workers” or those with “networking skills” but I find these of questionable value. The most common text is the old Myers-Briggs Inventory, which tries to determine how extroverted, intuitive, or thoughtful you are. Many psychologists question its accuracy. In my experience, most employers are looking for dedication, intelligence, capacity for hard work, and flexibility-no matter what the job is. Written by William Pollack, Ph.D. Adopted by Leifson B.
