常常我們在商用書信會看到:
We would be appreciated.....
但有時又看到人家用:
We would appreciate.....
這兩種用法有什麼不同?

另外,有什麼句型是可以用以下的用法的嗎?
We appreciated....
We are appreciated....
You are appreciated....

有點搞不清楚....

appreciate是表示感謝, 採我方主動語態, 所以正確用法是:
We appreciate your good hospitality.
We would appreciate it if you kindly....
We would appreciate your early reply.
=Your early reply would be highly appreciated. (對方為主詞, 所以用被動語態, 仍是表我方感謝)

我方感謝時, We would be appreciated...是錯誤用法, 因為"be appreciated"是被感謝, 例如這樣的句子:
We would be appreciated to serve the different tastes that will make you forget your tiredness in its roomy and comfortable ambiance.

據我的觀察, 表我方感謝時錯誤使用"we would be appreciated..." 或"We are appreciated..."的情況非常多而不自知.

My understanding of:
“we would be appreciated…..” is like “ordering, thanks in advance if you do it our way, we will be happy if you do it our way”. We would be appreciated if you could leave now.

“we would appreciate….” is like “requesting, we will be happy if you do it our way”. We would appreciate greatly if you would stop talking.

“we appreciated…” is like “we thanked”, we appreciated your help.

“we/ you are appreciated…” is like “we've been thank by..”, we/ you are appreciated by the school.

Using past tense (would, could) is more polite.
-----------------------------------------------------------

[+ question word] I don't think you appreciate how much time I spent preparing this meal.

2 I/We appreciate...

引文:

My understanding of:
“we would be appreciated…..” is like “ordering, thanks in advance if you do it our way, we will be happy if you do it our way”. We would be appreciated if you could leave now.

“we would appreciate….” is like “requesting, we will be happy if you do it our way”. We would appreciate greatly if you would stop talking.

In the meaning of showing gratitude, "appreciate" is a transitive verb; therefore, I am sorry that I have to point out some errors.

1)
> We would be appreciated if you could leave now.
In this sentence, "be appreciated" is a transitive usage, but the sentence meaning is weird, because "we would be appreciated" is like "we would be thanked". How can we be thanked if you leave? thanked by whom?

Logically, we would be thanked if we do a certain favor, and not if you do a certain favor. For example, it will be more logical to say:
- We would be appreciated if we provide free drinks.
- We would be appreciated if we can show up in the meeting.

2)
> We would appreciate greatly if you would stop talking.
Wrong usage of a transitive verb; an object is missing.
→ We would appreciate it greatly if you would stop talking.

Hi, s40 and Mjlouhan:
From various dictionaries, such as Longman, Dictionary.com, Cambridge, and Oxford, We can notice that “appreciate” is used as a transitive verb in most cases. For the different meanings of this transitive verb, we can see they have a common sentence pattern, whatever their meanings are: someoneA appreciates somethingB (done by someoneB). In the sentence examples provided by those dictionaries, we could hardly see the usage of “someoneA appreciate someoneB”. Even for the meaning of “thank” which Chinese people would express most frequently, those sentence examples simply say “I appreciate your concern”, “I appreciate your kindness”, “We really appreciate all the help you gave us”, “I appreciate your making the effort to come.”, or “we appreciate your sympathy”.
It seems none of them shows “I appreciate you”, that is, someone can’t be found as an object. In other words, “Someone is appreciated” seems, in my opinion, not a good sentence example, even though it is grammatically correct. And when “Someone is appreciated” is used, I personally think Mj’s comments are more reasonable.
Any further comments will be appreciated!!

I am not a grammar king, I am a lively rebel.
I won't get annoyed because there is no point.
To me, I see no rules. The way I master language, I feel it.

All I want to say is, in my understanding of "would be appreciated" is legal, it's like 'polite ordering', it's not really to do with thanking.

same thing with "would appreciate", it's like 'polite requesting' not really to do with thanking.

Hi s4,
You don't need to be a grammar king
Before you discuss grammar here
The rules do always exist
Even though you would see none
You are free to master and feel your own language
But you live in the same society
That others live in
So let's keep minds open
In pursuit of what should be pursued at

Hi, Ruke,
I agree with you that "someone is appreciated..." is not often seen but the usage does exist, and that was why I referred to it as an special example to discuss in my last post. If you read my earlier post, you will see that I provided many examples of the most common usages in the form of "someone appreciate something" like you said.

I never discuss grammar here, I am talking about “living language”, take it, or leave it, up to you. But the thing is, I am living in this society, using the living language. This is my last response regard to this kind of matter.

You can use :
"It would be appreciated that (+ sentence)..."

For your reference.
