Could you make it in L.A. with your English?/你的英語能力可以在洛杉磯生存嗎? (中英對照 精華文章)

喻為"天使之城"的洛杉磯,是由幾百萬不同文化人口所組成的。世界上還沒有其他地方會使用不同的方式來說英語,如果到那裡旅遊,你將會想要融入它。來試試看這裡有些有趣的文字及片語:

「Bro」「Dude」「Brother」「Amigo」這些都是一般在洛杉磯會使用來稱呼一位男性朋友。就像「Whats up,bro?」最後一個「amigo」在西班牙文指的是「朋友」但是仍然經常使用在英語人士。

「Far out!」這個驚嘆句會使用在玩衝浪的人。它的意思是某事是刺激或非常棒的,幾乎難以置信。

「Hella」為另一個正面單字,是表示「very」的另一個字。為了加重讚美的語氣。「This food is hella good!」

「To get to the Hollywood sign, you need to get on the Ten and... 」

「Youre keeping it real, brother.」

Los Angeles, he City of Angels,?is home to millions of people from a wide diversity of cultures. There no other place in the world in which English is spoken in so many different ways, and if you travel there, youl want to fit in. Here are some fun words and phrase to try:

ro?ude?rother?migo?/b> All of these are words commonly used for addressing a male friend in LA. As in, hat up, bro?? The last one, migo?is the Spanish word for riend?but is still frequently used by English speakers.

ar out!?/b> This exclamation is popular among people who surf. It means that something is exciting or awesome, almost beyond belief. ar out, dude!?

ella?/b> Another positive word, this time as a replacement for ery.? Just use it to make any compliment even better. his food is hella good!?

urf n?Turf?/b> Speaking of food, this is a common cuisine in LA, in which both seafood and steak are served in the main course. Though it can be quite expensive, there are a lot of cheap restaurants called ives?where you can get this sort of food at a reasonable price.

aco Stand?/b> Another common cuisine, tacos come from Latin America, but they are very popular in southern California. A tand?is a small place by the side of the road where you can stop and get a quick meal. These places are often cheaper than fast food restaurants like McDonalds or Burger King, but the food is much better!

he 10?he 5?he 101?/b> Los Angeles is a mass of highways, and, if youe visiting, chances are youl have to drive around in a car. If you ask for directions from a local, theyl identify highways in this way. o get to the Hollywood sign, you need to get on the Ten and...?

eleb?/b> Short for elebrity.? You will probably see at least a few of these from US movies or television shows if you walk around LA. Don worry, it okay to ask politely for autographs or photos, but don awk at them?(stare at them).

 keeping it real?/b> Sometimes LA can feel so glamorous that it seems fake; it can seem as though youe in a movie. This phrase means that you rise above that and manage to be a good person despite the fakeness. It a high compliment in the city. oue keeping it real, brother.?
