The sky has lost it colour. No more blue for the sunshine, no more red for the sunset, only darkness accompanies the sky when time goes by.

The sun has turned to grey, for it has lost its passion for things it used to love. It becomes hopeless, no longer expects anymore.

At least that is how it feels to me, when one misses someone he can never have him back again. Never and never, as the reality keeps going on.

Whenever you are away, my heart is still beating, waiting and imagining maybe, maybe there would be a Maybe.

I crawl up in the corner, feeling the snow falling down on my shoulders, having those images flashing through my mind that we used to walk on this street together every night after work.

As I watch the minutes pass, time still can not heal the wound in the deep deep place of my heart. As I watch the snow dressing up the tree with a white elegant outfit, I hear the song telling the coming of the Christmas.

Each one brings me closer to the time when you will be back. I dreamed of you in my place watering those plants out of the window frame. I wish you were here, I pray to god for your returning back.

I can't take the distance. It is cruel as you take the air away from my little world. I can't take the miles. I am like a kite losing its thread, floating in the airy sky let the directionless wind take me to somewhere I have never seen. I can't take the time until the next time I see your smile. Aimless thought blinds me, all the shadow appearing in my head is your figure moving on my doorway.

I can't take the distance and I am not ashamed. The whole world would understand, even the stars in the sky would fall as the tears of the goddess of love Venus.

I can't take a breath without saying your name. your lips and soft hair, your eyes and spirit, your voice and your tie all have stepped into my uncontrollable life.

I can brave a hurricane and still be standing tall when all the dust has settled down. There is nothing can be an obstacle in my way. Even the mountains can't exhaust my feet running across it just for taking a look at your face. But I just can't take the time.

I still believe my feeling. The way you move, the way you tease me, the way you hold me and the way you know me. I can't find the right word to say. I whisper your name when I am asleep in my lonely day.

I make believe you are close to me. But it ain't close enough, not really close enough. Let me keep searching for your face, one day I know you will be back. Again and again, only hope will lead me to your place where I can show you my sincere love again.

The most important person in my life is my father. He is very important to me because he raised me for 25 years. Because of him, I have a good life. I always have a roof over my head and food on the table. He always makes me laugh and feel happy. When I have some problems, he would give me good advice. My father is a kind man. He likes to help people so he has lots of friends. Father is an excellent person so he is a popular teacher in his school. My father has good values. He taught me how to be a good person. He always will be my best friend. I hope he is able to have good health and happiness forever..

I had my first Halloween in America. I had a good time. I saw many people decorating their houses. Some people put the pumpkins and jack’o lanterns on front of their porches. Parents bought different costumes for their children. Young children even showed up at their schools wearing costumes. After school they waited their parents to accompany them to houses to ask for candies. My husband’s associate told him “I will leave early today because I have to pick up my daughters to ask for candy.” About 6:00pm children began to go from house in their neighborhoods. Everyone turned on their lights on the porches. I also prepared some fruit and candies, and then I heard the door bell, so I opened the door and saw a young kid wearing an animal costume. She was the first one coming to my door. She was as cut as a cat. She said “Trick or treat.” I took my bag and asked her, “Which one do you like?” She picked a big apple. She was very happy and thanked me. I was very happy, too. I asked her to take a picture with me. I send the photograph to my family. Halloween is an interesting and fan day.

i don't have to close my eyes to see snow covered landscape that i long for
in your words, i see a smiling face in the drifting whiteness, of yours
the same smiling face that i long for
across wide ocean and continent, taipei 101 half hidden in frezzing mist
grayness come claim the city sky, but your excitmente so contagious that,
sweeping my aching beside, my words dance along with yours
not telling you how
i don't have to close my eyes to see your smiling face in snow covered landscape
how i long for

the year unfolding layers
upon layers, words

I would like to say that the educational system in Taiwan is like “sink or swim” situation. I believe that all kids are born with talent. However, talent will be wasted if the kids are not lucky enough to be born in the right place. Soon or later, they become the sink one. I am so glad that the Taiwanese style didn’t drown you, and you eventually learned how to swim in the U.S. For the kids who learned how to swim in Taiwan, I greatly respect their consistency and extraordinary endurance.

David, could you tell me more about your very beginning learning experiences in the U.S.? I am living in Houston. At the place where I am working can sometimes see new China or Taiwan immigrants. Some of them are elementary school or high school students. They feel difficult to fit in American student life because their English proficiency is not good enough for them to understand the schoolwork.

Have you ever been through that stage? You seemed to adjust through a very natural and stress-free process, which is very impressive to me. Besides regular schoolwork, did you receive any extra language help, for example, ESL class, tutor, or after school service? Can you remember any of those? How did you overcome the language gap?

Recently I bought a book named 35x33 which means 33 things you need to do before 35 years old. I am not that book-buying kind, but after I read it for a while in the boodstore I decided to take it home.
Just like meeting the Mr. Right, I always think that it's hard to find a man, a friend, a song or a book that can touch your soul, so when I find them, I will cherish them very much...
Anyway, I'm very happy that I find a good book and i could have different feelings whenever i read it no matter how old I am.

A Poem for Computer Users Over 40
給年逾不惑電腦使用者的詩

Author: Unknown
Annotated and translated by Wuyen Ni & Grace Hsu

A computer was something on TV
From a science fiction1 show of note2
A window was something you hated to clean
And ram3 was the cousin of a goat4.
Meg was the name of my girlfriend
And gig5 was a job for the nights
Now they all mean different things
And that really mega bytes6.

An application7 was for employment
A program8 was a TV show
A cursor9 used profanity10
A keyboard11 was a piano.

Memory12 was something that you lost with age
A CD13 was a bank account
And if you had a 3-inch floppy14
You hoped nobody found out.

Compress15 was something you did to the garbage16
Not something you did to a file
And if you unzipped17 anything in public18
You'd be in jail19 for a while.

Log on20 was adding wood to the fire
Hard drive21 was a long trip on the road
A mouse pad22 was where a mouse lived
And a backup23 happened to your commode24.

Cut25 you did with a pocketknife26
Paste27 you did with glue28
A web29 was a spider's home
And a virus30 is the flu31.

I'll stick to32 my pad33 and paper
And the memory in my head
No one's been killed in a computer crash34
But it makes their face turn red35!

Reading Guide

17 Warning Signs of a Bad Boyfriend [ 2005-09-21 | From: ineternet ]

You know the guy you're thinking about marrying is wrong for you if he has no friends, your parents and siblings don't like him, and his credit history doesn't check out.

Sometimes the best words of wisdom don't come from academics or scientists with impressive titles and educational credentials. Sometimes the best advice comes from people who have been there and done that in the real world. Such is the case with a recent letter published in the syndicated Dear Abby advice column that listed 17 signs that your boyfriend is NOT the one you should marry.

A married woman who said her husband now wanted a divorce passed along these tips to Dear Abby for the not-yet-married. If you see these red flags, she advises you to dump the guy:

If your parents or siblings have doubts about him, pay attention. Listen and check it out.

If your intended has nothing good to say about his ex, beware. This is a pattern. Divorce is rarely only one person's fault.

If his children have nothing to do with him, do not believe him if he says his ex brainwashed them against him. My stepchildren have told me it was because they hated him, and they have good reasons.

Look closely at his credit and job history. They are sure predictors of what your life will be like.

If he's over 30 and has no money, do not let him move in with you, and don't marry him until he's financially solvent. If he has any respect for you (and himself), he'll insist on it.

Be sure in your heart that you can live with him AS IS. You cannot change another person.

This is a biggie: Beware if he has no friends. It is not true that they all chose to side with his ex.

If your friends dislike him, pay attention. This is also true if he hates your friends.

If he has more than one DUI and still drinks, run!

If he is one personality at work or with others and another person alone with you, run.

If he has nothing to do with his parents, investigate why. Don't take his word for it.

If he's an expert at everything and brags a lot, understand that he will turn off a lot of people, eventually maybe even you.

If he has sexual problems, go with him to a doctor before you marry him. Believe me, his problem will become your problem.

If he is emotionally or verbally abusive, it will only get worse. Yelling, name-calling and glowering are classic signs of an abuser.

If he is never wrong and never apologizes, everything will be "your fault" forever. And after years of hearing it, you may even start to accept the blame.

If he does something wrong and says, "That wouldn't have happened if you hadn't (fill in the blank)," that's another sign of an abuser.

And if he's mean to children, pets, or animals, recognize that he's pathological, and the next victim could be you.
