It is Thursday again. I would like to take GL English class with Bill. I borrowed a book from Taipei City Library last Sunday. This book named GOOD QUEEN BESS-The story of Elizabeth I of England.
The name of author is Diane Stanley. He was born before Elizabeth I. In his mind, Elizabeth is a perfect queen and even loved by her adversaries. Her father, Hurry VIII preferred sons to daughters, create a new religion for his country to married another 5 wives, such as Jane, Anne, Catherine, and so forth.
She is smart and good at several languages, such as French, Spanish, and Italy. Therefore, she can communicate with foreign ambassadors directly.
She was 25 years old on her accession to the throne. She prefers use her wits rather than force and managed to keep England out of war for 27 years.
Since she was modern, rich and had power and influence, lots of celebrities went after with her. At last she decided to marry with a common ugly men because he was not interested in her power and could assist her at any moment. In fact, she had lots of boy friends in her all life.

How to contribute to my London Office
I have worked at our Foreign Banks Department over six years and smoothly contact with the chief executive officer or compliances in international foreign banks everyday. If I get this opportunity to work at our London Office, there are several benefits for our London Office as follows:
First of all, this job is highly related to my current job. Therefore, I completely recognize our supervisory philosophy and what our FSC's needs when I contact with foreign financial talents in the UK and Europe.
Secondly, some head offices of international foreign banks in Taiwan are located in London, such as HSBC, Barkley, and Standard Chattered. Since I'm already familiar with their operation of branch in Taiwan, I hope I can bring their further financial information of head office to our FSC's expertise to know their real thoughts and business strategies.
Finally, my 17-year connection at my current job would directly provide our London Office another channels to comminute with financial authorities and financial institutions.

Has anyone heard about the "Government Procurement Act?" Currently, I'm not familiar with this issue because I never work for the Secretarial Office. However, if I could work for London Office, this Act would become more essential for me, when I rent the place of meeting in London.
Under the Act, tender is allowed within a limit (NT 100,000 dollars); or publication is needed. As far as I know, the latter's procedure is more complicate.
If I am an account officer in this regard, I have to ensure all the procurement procedures following all regulations of the Act. Therefore, I will do the most to learn in this field form my coworker’s experience and web site immediately.

My husband and I have 2 children. We greatly believe that all family members should live together at any moment. Most people are curious whether they will go with me. In fact, they not only already agreed to my plan but also adhered to me.
My husband, David, has worked at the Taipei Chinese Orchestra over 10 years. He is in charge of administrative management. Since he is also a civil servant, he could be on leave without pay.
Moreover, my two children are both studying in elementary school. My daughter is Grade 6 and my son is Grade 5. According to their one-year study experience in the US, they are expecting to have another study opportunity in London.
In my opinion, one dispatched abroad with family would be more stable than single one. The main reasons are not only he or she could more concentrate on the job, but also could be supported physically when necessary.

My new job interview will be held next Tuesday. Some coworkers told me if I'm highly interested in this position, I had better to call on my key senior supervisor to express how important the job for me.
Accordingly, I talked with my section head yesterday. He didn't support my idea at all. He said "If I ask my key supervisor and acquire the job, people don't that I am a meritocrat. Letting nature take its course would be the best policy for this situation."
With his suggestion, I sincerely feel that I need to have assurance that I am the strongest candidate for this position.

I've been working at my Banking Bureau of Financial Supervision Commission over 15 years. During the time, I worked for Domestic Banks Department, Financial Examination Department and Legal Department. Currently, I work for Foreign Banks Department and am an account office for Citibank and Deutsche Bank. In line with international trend, the FSC is engaging in adjusting some untimeliness regulations or principles to meet the needs from our financial markets at any moment. So I have to improve my capability and broaden my horizon on my own and hope that I could get the chance to work abroad with my family in the near future.

A security guard at my office was sent to the Eastern Hospital last Thursday noon. Due to hypertension, his doctor told his elder brother and sister that surgery is needed, but the probability of recover is below 5%. Since he's not married and fewer relatives, his elder brother agree to give up the security guard’s medical treatment. So he passed away at the same day. In addition, his welfare party was held last Sunday.

Life is so short! I sincerely hope that everyone stay in shape and good luck~

To broaden my families and my horizon, I applied for my office in London Office last week. Since the competition is considerably serious, I studied hard at home during the weekend. However, I still fell less confident for this writing test and oral interview. In addition, I also find out that another competitor who is in charge of this test. I wonder weather I should take this test in the coming week. If you were me, what will you do?
